Working Holiday Course
The Rotorua community loves to welcome people on Working Holiday Visas from all over the world. The area is a great place to find work. Our students have found jobs in areas such as hospitality, tourism, seasonal work, farm work and healthcare. You can find a variety of local jobs at:

Our 12-week working holiday course is aimed at helping students enter the work force in New Zealand. Students study full-time English at a level to suit them in the mornings and afternoons.
The Working Holiday course is very flexible and changes to meet the needs of the participants at any one time. Topics may include:
- Where to look for a job – understanding job adverts and abbreviations used in them
- Building a job-finding network
- The employment scene in New Zealand – the labour market
- Opportunities for working holidaymakers
- Work-related vocabulary
- Registration and Placement fees
- Filling in Application Forms
- Registration and Placement fees
- Finding Your Job in New Zealand – IRD, bank accounts, references
- Registering with WINZ (Work and Income New Zealand) and suitable agencies
- Online job hunting and resources
- Websites useful for working holidaymakers
- How to present yourself at interview – voice, dress, questions to ask and answer

During the 12 weeks, students are also given free after-school help to assist them in finding a
job. Ex-students who have already found a job in Rotorua also come in to give advice.
