THE SCHOOL

Our English language school is located in the heart of the urban centre but only minutes away from the mountains and sea. It is within easy walking distance to the Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada Place, and the internationally renowned Robson Street and has access to public transport including the Sea Bus, SkyTrain and major bus routes.
COURSES
Course 25h This course is designed to deliver maximum improvement in English in the fastest possible time. Available every week of the year, and to students of all abilities from beginner to advanced, this highly structured program is designed to give students the skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed in exams, or in their present or future occupation. The course consists of 25 hours of lessons per week in small classes of 10 participants maximum.
The program is divided into two parts:
The morning Core language skills development program Course 15h. In this part of the program students work to reach goals in area such as:
- developing accuracy in grammar,
- vocabulary and pronunciation
- increasing comprehension and reaction time
- improving fluency and confidence
The afternoon In order to meet the differing needs of the students on the course, the afternoon lessons offer the choice between developing language skills for present or future career purposes or preparing for an official test or examination. Students can choose one from two afternoon electives:
- Elective 1: Career development
A performance driven, language development program for the participant's future or present occupation. Taught through a series of classroom base projects and tasks, these classes are ideal to help the participant communicate in general, business and social situations.
- Elective 2: Exam Preparation
This course builds the skills, language and confidence needed to pass the examinations. The course includes practice tests and exams. Through the identification of errors we help the student to eradicate weaknesses and build on strengths. Students have a choice of the following examinations: Cambridge, FCE, IELTS.
Combination Course 30h
Students can choose to take the 25h course together with an additional hour of individual tuition every day. This course combines the advantages of learning in a structured group situation (maximum 10 students) for 25 hours each week, with the benefits of highly personalised attention in 5 hours of individual coaching each week.
Course One-to-One: 15h or 25h This is the ultimate language training program designed for the most ambitious learners. Students learn at their own pace while receiving 100% attention from the teacher in this taylor-made course. The teacher coaches the participant for 3 or 5 hours every day, focusing on the areas that need development. This is a highly personalised program designed to give the student the skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed. For students of all abilities from beginner to advanced.
Internship Students can combine a 25h course with an internship which gives the opportunities to practise language skills in a business environment while gaining valuable, relevant international work experience. Participation requires TOEFL 80, TOEIC 750, FCE, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Placement in internships depends on position availability, language proficiency and work experience.
Young Learners Term School 22.5h This year-round program prepares young people (14 to 17 years old) for future success in a stimulating and challenging English immersion environment. The small class size encourages fluency and leads to spontaneous use of language.

Both Young Learners programs focus on developing communication abilities and social skills in a friendly and nurturing setting. The program concentrates on:

Living with a family is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in Canadian culture while improving your language skills after class.
