Summer Program for Juniors CLC offers programs for children who want to learn English or French in Canada. The fully integrated curriculum combines classroom learning with practical hands-on activities for children aged 10 to 13 years old.
Lessons are devoted to acquisition of functional language, vocabulary, listening skills, and increased fluency. Less formal classroom activities such as class projects and curriculum based field trips are offered in the afternoons.
Children in the English program have the option of taking the Cambridge Young Learner English Test at the conclusion of their studies.

Junior Summer Camps Bournemouth AEB
The junior courses are offered in two of England’s most famous historic cities:
Southampton (ages 12-17): A cosmopolitan seaside location, offering a range of sporting, cultural, entertainment and shopping facilities, Southampton is also famous for its maritime heritage, and was once home to the Titanic. Southampton is ideally located, with easy access to London and major UK airports, as well as many popular destinations, such as Oxford, Bournemouth, Stonehenge and the New Forest. Our programme is provided at the modern and well-equipped campus of Southampton Solent University, in the centre of the city.
Accommodation is in single rooms with private bathrooms, in a secure, modern residence, just 10 minutes’ walk from the main campus building.
Nottingham (ages 10-17): Famous home to the legendary Robin Hood, Nottingham is steeped in English history and folklore. However, this vibrant and friendly city also has a more modern side, offering many entertainment and leisure attractions, as well as one of the largest shopping centres in the UK. Located in the very heart of England, Nottingham is less than 2 hours from London, and affords easy access to York, Lincoln and Leeds, as well as to traditional English seaside resorts such as Skegness. Our Nottingham programme is provided in a closed campus at the University of Nottingham, which is ideally suited to young learners. Set in extensive parkland, the campus is on the edge of the city, offering easy access to it’s numerous attractions.
Accommodation is in single and twin rooms in the same building as the cafeteria and classrooms. The Programme The programme includes 20 lessons per week in international classes of up to 15 students. Each lesson lasts for 50 minutes. There are six levels of study available, from beginner to advanced, and all students are carefully tested on the first day, to ensure they are placed in the right class for their level. Students also receive a welcome pack including detailed information about the course, and a free student bag. At the end of the course all students also receive a certificate as a record of their English language studies.
Our Teachers As a British Council accredited programme, all our teachers are well qualified and experienced, and are also extensively briefed on the particular needs of young learners. The language is brought to life through a stimulating and functional, learner-centred approach. In addition to formal language training in the four key skills areas, lessons include project work, videos, games and use of an extensive range of modern English language teaching materials and resources.
Activity Programme The programme includes one full-day and one half-day excursion per week. Excursions from Southampton include London, Oxford, Brighton, Winchester and the Isle of Wight. Nottingham excursions include London, York, Cambridge and the popular Alton Towers theme park. There is also a full programme of activities every afternoon and evening, including a variety of sports (e.g. football, volleyball, basketball) and other activities (e.g. film shows, bowling, discos) and visits to local sites of interest.

Summer courses Exmouth MLE
In our School, we focus on English conversational classes. We insist on all our students speaking English within the lessons – and we operate a ‘Red Card’ scheme. Three yellow cards for speaking your own language in class, and you’re out! (the student is asked to leave the room until the next lesson begins). We ask that all parents support this system before you agree to your child attending our school. We have found with experience that this is the best way to encourage students to speak English in class, and it really helps to improve their English.
You will spend 3 hours having English conversation classes in the morning. We believe that the more fun we make the classes, the more you will learn! So do not worry about being bored in lessons – we balance all classes with a good mix of grammar and games, to encourage even the shyest students to speak.
Unlike other schools, our teachers help with the afternoon activities to ensure that the learning of English continues well beyond the classroom.
In the afternoon, there is a local based activity, such as mini golf, beach games, go karting or bowling.
Every Saturday, we offer a full day excursion to a local attraction. Many students enjoy visiting Dartmoor, or the historical towns of Plymouth and Totnes.
In high season, we offer trips to London on Sundays at an extra £40 per student, numbers permitting.
Twice a week we offer an evening activity – skittles, karaoke, disco... A time to meet up with other students, relax, and chat about the week’s events!
Teaching
Classes Students are placed by age and ability to a maximum of 15 in each class. A careful balance of activities is designed to increase the students’ grammar and vocabulary and improve their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Each morning, from Monday to Friday, you will receive 3 hours tuition, a total of 15 hours tuition per week.
You will be tested on arrival and placed in the class appropriate for your level of English. In low season, when we do not have a full class, you may be in a mixed ability group – however, please be assured that our teachers are fully experienced in dealing with mixed ability groups.
All classes Use pair and group work to maximise the opportunity to speak and games, role-play, and video to make the lessons varied and fun
Do out-of-class projects. These extend and practise English outside class and increase the students' awareness and appreciation of the world around them
Participate in role-play workshops. These form a compulsory part of the morning lesson programme. All students prepare a 10 minute presentation to show to the rest of the group at the end of the course.
All students get a Certificate at the end of the course.
Prices 2 week Summer School Course - £500 includes all lessons and activities
Accommodation in host family - £98 per week Includes bed, breakfast, packed lunch, evening meal
