THE SCHOOL
Shrewsbury is one of the finest medieval towns in England. A regional capital with a population of 100,000 - centrally located with no regional accent - yet not dominated by tourism.
We offer professionalism, combined with the personal attention & flexibility which only a small school like ours can do. Our language school provides expert teaching in a friendly, supportive adult environment. Facilities are extremely comfortable, and include 9 classrooms, computer & listening centres, library, separate lounges for smokers and non-smokers, sun terrace etc.
The minimum age of our students is 20. Our english language school accepts a maximum of 40 adults at any time.
COURSES
Course 20h (+ additional courses) 
are skills-based and develop your ability to communicate accurately and confidently in English. Additional grammar, One-to-One and examination lessons are available for those with specific needs or limited time to study. The courses suit those with academic English requirements as well as satisfying general and basic professional English demands.

- 5 lessons teacher-guided self-access study & computer-assisted learning
- Level test, teaching materials, library access, progress reviews
- Internet/e-mail access, social programme, end-of-course progress report & certificate
Examination preparation
Our language school is an examining centre for Cambridge ESOL examinations FCE, CAE and CPE; we have wide experience preparing students for these and all the other exams.
Course Components:
- 20 lessons English language and skills development
- 5 lessons intensive grammar and writing skills development & practice
- 5 lessons intensive examination preparation for FCE, CAE, IELTS or TOEFL
- 5 lessons teacher-guided self-access study & computer-assisted learning
- 5 lessons of teacher-guided examination practice & computer-based exercises
- Level test, teaching materials, library access, progress reviews
- Internet & e-mail access, social programme, end-of course certificate

Business English
- Business Module 1 – ‘ESSENTIAL BUSINESS FUNCTIONS’
(10 lessons per week included in all business & executive;
Max. class size 6, average. 3-4 at all times of year)
Select from the following ‘menu’: * telephoning * written communications (formal & informal) including e-mail * reading business texts * numerical information & basic statistics * visiting & visitors * entertaining * dealing with native speakers * diplomacy & etiquette * general presentation techniques * personal arrangements & business travel * the language of meetings * describing the company * international business culture & protocol *
- Business Module 2 – ‘SKILLS & DEPARTMENTAL FUNCTIONS’
(5 lessons per week included in business & executive courses;
Max. class size 6, average. 2-3 at all times of year)
Please note that a higher level of English is required for this module, so the courses which include it are limited to English levels of Intermediate and above.

ACCOMMODATION
We choose the accommodation you want - the more you tell us about yourself, the better chance we have to select accommodation which perfectly suits you.
You'll be living within walking distance of the academy or an easy bus ride away; or we'll provide free taxis to and from the school of english.
You can choose between the following accommodation types:
- Homestay for adults
Often known as 'host family', includes full board weekends and half board weekdays. We arrange your stay with a family, couple or single person who will provide you with a caring, communicative living situation in a comfortable home.
- Private Home for adults
Similar to homestay and also includes full board weekends and half board weekdays, but gives you greater independence: your hosts will not spend as much time with you socially.
- Executive Homestay for adults
Similar to homestay but you will have a lovely bedroom in a beautiful home. Packed lunches on weekdays are included, and you can request a private bathroom.
If you don't want to live in a 'host family' situation, we'll help you arrange a different kind of accommodation.
