Spanish Government Scholarships for English language courses abroad, destined for Teachers/School Masters and students completing their last year of studies leading to the title of Teacher/School Master

Many are the reasons that endorse the need to promote the learning of foreign languages. Cultural, educational, political and economic reasons have led the European Council to plan as an objective for the whole european student body the knowledge of two foreign languages.
Starting from this basis, the Spanish Statutory Law of Education pays special attention to the teaching of foreign languages through different measures such as the early initiation to a foreign language at pre-school level, its generalization in primary schools and the inclusion of a second language from the first course of Obligatory Secondary Education (ESO). But besides the early introduction and the time spent, another fundamental factor exists to guarantee the quality of learning. An effective teaching of foreign languages necessarily requires a good initial and permanent formation of the teaching staff.
These aids are aimed at this last aspect, and have been announced for the first time by the Ministry of Education, Social Policy and Sport, to be specifically directed to teachers recently titled as such and students studying at University to become teachers who aim to finish their studies by June/July this year. The objective of the aforementioned aid is to provide the new teachers, and those who are in the very near future going to be new teachers, with an aid in their English language formation by means of a stay of at least 3 months in an
English-speaking country, since experience demonstrates that to obtain a greater fluidity in the use of a language it is advisable to carry out learning stays in the corresponding countries.
