THE SCHOOL
Our institute is located within the old town. It is very close to the medieval castle and only a five minute walk from the newly established Technological University of Cyprus. The institute is on the first floor of an old urban 19th century house which was part of a “hanni” -a guest house for people and animals. There are a lot of restaurants, cafés and galleries nearby. You will be able to enjoy the historical atmosphere of the house in the heart of town, in an institute which is fully equipped with the latest teaching media.
COURSES
Basic
This course is aimed at learners who wish to deal with language learning for a longer period of time. It is also suitable for beginners and advanced learners who wish to improve their language skills alike. It is offered to students at all levels, from A1 to C1. The course will consist of one 90 min lesson each week; each lesson is made up of two units of instruction (one unit of instruction equals 45 minutes)
Compact
Designed for students who wish to gain maximum progression within a compressed amount of time this course offers the opportunity to pass an exam at the end of the year. With one 2.5 hour lesson a week comprising of 3 units of instruction (one unit being 45 minutes) and a 15 minutes break half way through the class, you are able to avoid making return trips, save time and anxiety. This course is offered at all levels from primary A1 to advanced C1.
Effective
This course is suitable for students who wish to learn the language extensively. At the end of this course there is an opportunity for you to sit an internationally recognised exam from the University of Cambridge ESOL, without additional hours for preparation. This course comprises of two classes each week, taken on two separate days. Each class is 90 minutes long equaling 4 units of instruction weekly, (2x2 units = 2x90 minutes). This course is offered at all levels from primary A1 to advanced C1.
Intense Summer Course
This course offers the opportunity for you to gain a whole year's worth of language studies in four intensive weeks, making it ideal if you are starting to prepare for university studies in the UK or the USA or even if you just wish to fulfill a vast le arning process in a short space of time. During the four week course you will study Monday to Friday, 9.00 am until 12.15 pm each day comprising of 4 units of instruction. During the intensive summer course you will have moved up a level and gained a whole year worth of studies. Our program is varied and the environment is pleasant enabling you to enjoy the learning process. The course is offered at all levels from primary A1 to advanced C1.
Individual Tuition
This course is designed for students who do not have the time to participate within group classes or for those who would prefer a program designed specifically for their needs. It offers the students the opportunity for rapid progression and the ability to schedule their classes flexibly. As the student, it is for you to decide the pace and duration of your learning process and together with your teacher you will be able to set yourself particular goals. Each session will last 1.5 hours and comprise of 2 units of instruction. There are no pre-set dates for this course, the time and date is arranged to suit you.
Company Courses
We also offer courses to companies, either group or individual tuition designed to suit your requirements. Whether you wish only to improve your language skills within your company or if a specifically tailored course is needed, our programs can be adjusted to your company's
requests. The training can take place either in-house or at our institute, and the times can be set to meet your needs.
Talk to me
This course has been designed primarily for adult learners who already have a certain knowledge of English and wish to reactivate and improve it. Within the program we will be emphasising the need for communication and interaction skills. The course content is flexible and designed to aid progression in practical speaking situations. During this course your learning experience will be a relaxed and inspiring activity.
Encounter Evenings
At Plurilingua we believe that the learning process should not be limited to the confines of the classroom, therefore we offer you the opportunity (free of charge) to practice your language skills in a relaxed public environment. Regardless of the level you are at whether beginner or advanced, we invite you to join us one evening each month to meet in either a pub or café, enjoy a glass of wine in a social atmosphere and practice your conversational English. We believe that positive emotions and social contacts can support the learning process more than grammatical exercises!
Exams
The exams are, as much as possible, linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, teaching assessment, published by the Council of Europe. Qualifications are plotted against six clearly defined levels (A1-C2). This makes it easy for anyone involved in language learning or teaching to see the level of different qualifications and to compare internationally.
You can be prepared at our language school for the following exams:
Basic User
Starters, Movers, Flyers: These tests are an enjoyable and non-threatening way of assessing the English of children between the ages of 7 and 12. The tests can act as a stepping stone to other Cambridge ESOL exams. As the highest level test, Flyers is roughly equivalent in language level to KET (Key English Test). It can serve as an appropriate bridge to KET or a step leading to PET (Preliminary English Test), as learners move into adolescence.
KET (Key English Test)
An elementary level exam, testing your ability to deal with basic written and spoken communications.
Independent User
PET (Preliminary English Test)
An intermediate level exam, testing your ability to cope with everyday written and spoken communications.
FCE (First certificate in English)
An upper intermediate level exam - ideal if you can deal confidently with a range of written and spoken communications.
Proficient User
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
is the ideal test if you need to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS scores are recognized by universities and colleges, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies.
TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign Language)
The Test measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings. It is widely accepted in the USA as a prerequisite for admission into colleges and universities.
IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) as Second Language
A school-based qualification, which is considered as evidence of solid academic achievement, it is equivalent to the British GCSE, and exists as O-Level and A-Level. Recognised by a big number of universities in UK as admission requirement.

FREE TIME
Due to a large number of international companies in Limassol, bringing with them foreign employees and a vast amount of people visiting each year, the city has a more cosmopolitan feel than most places you will find on the island, affecting the nightlife and gastronomy. Depending on what you are looking for, Limassol can provide you with many different forms of entertainment, from the bars, nightclubs and discos of the tourist area to the more sophisticated wine bars and coffee shops of the old town. The old town is a very interesting area steeped in history and culture, worth taking a long stroll around this area and we recommend you begin at the old medieval castle. Built in the Crusader period, legend tells us that Richard the Lionheart and Queen Berengaria of Navarra were married in a chapel there. The castle houses a remarkable medieval museum, and a wonderful view of Limassol, the old town and the former Turkish Cypriot quarter can be enjoyed from the tower.
ACCOMODATION
For those students who wish to partake in our Summer Intensive Course, we are able to offer accommodation in small hotels or apartments, if required. Taking all of your needs into consideration we provide you with the choice of staying either in the culturally rich old town, close to the institute or the busy tourist area. The prices of the accommodation we are able to offer depends upon the location you choose, for a studio in the old town we estimate ca. (340 Euro) a month, however if you choose to share an apartment with another person the price becomes lower and we estimate in this case around (205 euro).
