THE SCHOOL
 Exmouth is located on the south coast of East Devon where the River Exe meets the sea and has a population of aprox. 35,000.
We are fortunate that Devon is the warmest county in England, and Exmouth is very often warm and sunny when other parts of England are cold and wet!
Exmouth is a beautiful family resort with a two-mile long seafront, lovely cliff walks with stunning views of the bay.
Exmouth has an excellent beach for you to swim and play or just to relax, or enjoy its many activities.
The English school was started in answer to a demand for a quality, upmarket English language school, where students are ensured the best teaching in the friendliest surroundings, and superior accommodation.
COURSES
Summer School 15h
At MLE, we focus on English conversational classes. We insist on all our students speaking English within the lessons – and we operate a Red Card scheme. Three yellow cards for speaking your own language in class, and youre out! (the student is asked to leave the room until the next lesson begins). We ask that all parents support this system before you agree to your child attending our school. We have found with experience that this is the best way to encourage students to speak English in class, and it really helps to improve their English.
You will spend 3 hours having English conversation classes in the morning. We believe that the more fun we make the classes, the more you will learn! So do not worry about being bored in lessons – we balance all classes with a good mix of grammar and games, to encourage even the shyest students to speak.
General English 15h 
From 9.30 until 12.30, Monday to Friday
The General English Course consists of 15 hours tuition per week and we aim to help you improve your spoken fluency, accuracy and confidence. We also focus on improving your written English with grammar exercises and written work.
The minimum age for the course is 16, but most of our General English course students are aged between 25 and 50.
Intensive English / Business English 25h
Our Intensive English course is for those who want to really focus on the language side of their holiday in Exmouth.
The course follows the General English course in the morning (see General English (link) page), plus an additional 2 hours lessons each afternoon, in groups of no more than 8, but usually only 4 students. These mini groups really give you the opportunity to speak, and practice your fluency in English.
Topics change every day, and Business English can be focused on this class, if that is what you are looking for. We will tailor the course to suit your needs. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements. And of course, you will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
One-to-One Lessons
Our One to One lessons are the most effective way to improve your English in a short period of time. One teacher, one student - your English will truly improve with this level of intense learning.

FREE TIME
Plenty of seafront attractions will keep the students of our English language school entertained for hours and the beach itself offers sand dunes and fascinating rock pools which is a paradise for all.
In the town centre of Exmouth there is a wide selection of shops from
well-known high street names to local specialist retailers, an undercover market and cinema.
A range of cuisine can be tasted at Exmouth's numerous and popular restaurants, cafes, pubs and takeaways.
There is also a vibrant and lively night scene ranging from the family oriented Pavilion to young people's nightclubs.
ACCOMMODATION
 All our junior students stay with English host families in Exmouth, within walking distance (no more than 30 minutes walk) of the school. If you dont fancy the walk, buses are available, and a local bus pass costs £8 per week (not included).
Usually you will stay in twin or triple rooms, shared with other students of the same age and sex as yourself. (an individual room supplement is available on request).
Our host families are carefully selected personally by us. We visit all host families in their own home, and select only those families with the best accommodation and the friendliest homes! Most of the host families are our personal friends.
For adult students we also offer Bed&Breakfast or Hotel accommodation.
