THE SCHOOL
 The English language school is located in a beautiful office building in the pedestrian walkway of St. Georges Mall. Here you feel the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the multicultural blend the city is so well known for. The language school is a short distance to the Metrorail and bus station. St. Georges Mall offers a lively atmosphere full of artists, shops and business people.

COURSES
Course 20h, 25h or 30h
There is a comprehensive listening and oral test before the English language course begins. This allows you to start in the correct level right from the outset. On the first day of the language course there is also an introductory meeting.
The lessons include grammar, reading, writing, listening and vocabulary extension, with a strong focus on communication. An emphasis is placed on real-life situations through role-plays, conversations, interviews, and simulated telephone dialogues.
 Business Course 30h
This course is recommended for students who use English mainly in business situations.
The afternoon lessons cover the language skills needed in the work place such as negotiating, telephoning, presentations, writing reports, etc.
Only experienced business course teachers teach these courses.
IELTS, TOEFL Preparation 30h
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (International English Language Training System) are widely recognized English tests that are often required by European and American universities and companies.
The exams can be taken in Cape Town.
Cambridge Preparation 25h
Cambridge examination certificates are English language qualifications which are recognised and highly valued by many employers around the world.
Good Hope Studies is one of the leading providers of preparation courses in Cape Town for Cambridge examinations.
The courses are run by specially trained teachers and are offered as closed courses. From beginning to end all lessons have one dedicated goal: the offering of the best possible preparation. Small class sizes ensure personal attention for all participants and a high pass rate. The exam can be taken in Cape Town after the course.
 Course one-to-one
One to one lessons are ideally suited for students who want to improve as quickly as possible and want the maximum in personal attention. In these lessons you can specify exactly what you would like to focus on. You may choose one of the prescribed focus areas found below before arrival. The exact needs within the focus of study are established at the beginning of the course through a needs analysis. Throughout your stay your needs will constantly be assessed to take into consideration your changing requirements as the course progresses.

Accommodation is an important part of your stay in a foreign country. At Good Hope Studies we offer a great variety of accommodation to meet your needs. Our accommodation officer knows all accommodation providers in person and inspects them regularly. The accommodation officer also assists you in making the right choices and is available during your stay to attend to your queries.
- Homestay
Staying with a host-family affords an insight into the South African life-style, while giving you the opportunity to reinforce newly acquired language skills. A host-family can be a traditional family, a young couple or a single woman. However, what they have in common is their interest in meeting people from all over the world and quickly making them feel comfortable. The families can easily be reached by public transport and some of them are even within walking distance of the school.
- Homestay-Plus
Homestay-Plus is suitable for those who wish to stay with a family and enjoy greater comfort. The families available offer a higher standard of living and a private bathroom.
- Student Residence
The student residence at the YMCA is ideally situated in a popular student district close to pubs and restaurants and only 4 stations by Metrorail to either school. The single rooms are basic, yet with modern furnishings and 5 rooms share one bathroom. It is the right choice for those who are young, or feel young, and wish to be more independent.
- Student House
The student house is a very inexpensive form of  accommodation, ideal for long term students. Accommodation is in twin rooms only, bathrooms are to share. A communal kitchen for self catering and a beautiful garden to relax in are also available. The location of the house is especially noteworthy. It is situated in a quiet area, within walking distance of both school buildings in the southern suburbs and to one of the main shopping areas. The school in the city centre can also be easily reached, by Metrorail.
- Bed & Breakfasts & Hotels
Several Bed & Breakfasts as well as 3- and 4-star hotels can be booked near by the school in the city centre and the southern suburbs.
