COURSES
Course 25h
General English classes focus on enabling students to use English effectively as a means of international communication. Our teachers are all qualified, experienced and able to provide students with practical and effective learning experiences. Classes are generally small with  intermediate to advanced level classes averaging 15 students. In order to better address learning needs, lower level classes are usually much smaller. Individual learning plans to monitor achievement and to establish realistic learning goals are developed for each student.
Students participate in small groups with lots of opportunities to develop and practise their conversational fluency. Various electives are offered to better target individual learning goals. Real to life learning is combined with the more traditional approach to learning in order to provide the student with a 'well-rounded' learning experience. Our new Rapid progress system ensures that students reach their goals quicker.
Certificate IV in TESOL
(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
English has become the language of international business, tourism and the internet, so the global demand for high quality English language teachers is high.
We responded to that demand by offering Certificate IV in TESOL, which is specifically designed to provide practical teaching skills for students who wish to teach English in their home countries.
The program covers the latest teaching strategies for developing learners' English language proficiency. This is a recognised course and registered with the Australian government.

Brisbane is the capital and most populous city of the Australian state of Queensland, as well as the third largest city in Australia, with a projected metropolitan population of 1,956,163.
Brisbane has a thriving live music scene, as well as museums and theatres, performing arts and creative arts within the city and suburbs. It is the birthplace of internationally acclaimed singers, music bands, authors, actors, artists, sculptors and fashion designers. Many of Brisbane's singers and musicians (both popular and classical) have performed overseas, and have received international awards and recognition. There are also popular entertainment pubs and clubs within both the City and Fortitude Valley— as well as theatres and museums which are located within the city, South Bank, the South Bank Parklands and Brisbane suburbs.
During your time with us you will have many opportunities to try new experiences with your classmates. Many activities also include Australian students who are also studying at our school. What a great way to improve your English and to make new friends! Some of the activities are:

ACCOMMODATION
Many types of accommodation are available in Brisbane. The International Student Officers can refer you to two Homestay providers that can recommend a number of options, including homestay, shared and rental accommodation
- Rental accommodation
Both Australians and international students enjoy living in rental accommodation. Renting a house or apartment gives you the chance to live on your own, or live with friends and share costs. Most rental properties are unfurnished, so you may need to rent or purchase furniture and items such as crockery and cutlery.
- Student houses
There is no on-campus accommodation at Brisbane North Point Institute of our school but there are a range of student houses throughout Brisbane. You can share amenities with fellow students but have the privacy of your own room by staying in a student house. Some student houses require you to cook your own meals but will have your bed linen and cooking utensils supplied. In addition, there is usually no bond or lease required.
Rental Tenancies Authority
The Rental Tenancies Authority protects tenants and property owners from unfair behaviour It is a requirement of law that when you move into a rental property, you sign a lease and pay a bond (usually about 4 weeks rent) to the Rental Tenancies Authority. This bond covers any damage which may occur to the property whilst the tenant is occupying the accommodation. If the property is left in good order at the end of the lease period, the tenant will be refunded the amount of bond.
